*The term support personnel as used here refers to individuals having a minimum of an associate degree or equivalent (Oregon). It should be noted that many states also have provisions for individuals with a high school diploma or GED. These individuals may be referred to as aides or assistants. There are other states that regulate assistants, but do not require a minimum of an associate degree (e.g., The educational requirement for Audiology assistants in Florida is 24 semester hours of coursework.).
